Every year at thewood chopping championship we prepare more complex competitions, said the Chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Turchin at the opening of the championship, BELTA correspondent reports.

The third firewood chopping championship among the media is taking place on the bank of the Vyacha reservoir in the Minsk region.

“Today is a holiday – November 7. I would like to wish everyone optimism, good health, victories. Our championship is already an established tradition. We are also preparing for it, preparing more difficult competitions. And may the strongest win”, — noted Alexander Turchin.

As the chief judge of the championship Sergei Uldinovich added, the championship is being held at this location for the third time. “Everything has been done to ensure that the competition is held at a high organizational level, is fair and uncompromising,” he emphasized.

The championship was held for the first time in 2022 and was immediately loved by journalists. According to the regulations for holding the championship, participants in the competition can be employees of central and regional mass media; bloggers united in a team. The team consists of 4-7 people (at least two women and two men). The number of participants, as well as fans, is only increasing every year. Teams from all over the republic and beyond will compete for the title of champion. This year, the geography of the participants has expanded significantly.

Spectators will enjoy family competitions in collecting wooden figures, a team competition in pulling firewood on a sled, competitions on logs, a board game of Belarusian monopoly, performances by cool artists of our country, food courts, creative photo zones, a children’s playground, souvenir sales and, of course, surprises.

According to the established good tradition, following the results of the championship, firewood will be donated to those in need for heating in the winter.
